Thames River Loop
City: LondonLength: 8.0 kmRegion: Southwest Ontario
London sits on the outer edge of the Carolinian zone, at a point where the southerly species of that zone have been mostly supplanted by the more common trees, shrubs and flowers of the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence Forest.
This walk loops one section of floodplain along the lower Thames River and takes walkers through both natural and highly artificial environments. It also connects at the north end with the Medway trail, which more ambitious walkers can use to double the length the walk.
Directions: From highway 401, take Wellington Road north to Dundas St. Turn left and follow Dundas...
