Petite Côte Conservation Area was created in 2007 alongside the Detroit River, south of LaSalle. An important marsh habitat, the Detroit River - A Canadian Heritage River, and Fighting Island - an International Wildlife Refuge, can be seen here. The environmentally friendly boardwalk trail and is constructed from recycled plastics instead of traditional wood.
