Description

Quinte MTB

Quinte MTB an IMBA affiliated, volunteer-run club and a registered not for profit corporation. Quinte MTB has worked very hard to acquire a Land Use Agreement with Batawa Ski Hill and the Batawa Development Corporation. This land use agreement allows us to host events, group rides and maintain/build trails on the Batawa Property.

The goal of our club is to work with the local community, groups, and landowner to:

a. Promote and advocate for high quality mountain biking in Quinte West;

b. Design, construct, and maintain local mountain bike trails;

c. Organize social events, clinics and group mountain bike rides;

d. Fundraise for mountain biking related projects.

BATAWA TRAIL STATUS:

We ask that you following the continuously evolving Covid-19 public health measures that are in place at the time of your visit.

The Batawa trails are open to the public and free to ride for both members and non-members.

The Batawa Ski Hill Trails (referred to as the South trails) are adjacent to the Ski Hill. A physical map of the these trails can be found at every major trail intersection and at the Ski Hill main parking lot. You can find a digital map on trail forks HERE. In the event of an emergency you are to call 911. The location is 99 Ski Club Lane, Batawa ON. K0K 1E0.

The Batawa North trails were officially opened on July 3, 2021. These trails are located between Parry Drive and March Street, North of the Ski Hill. Access to the North trails can be found along Ski Club Lane (the street that leads to the Ski Hill parking lot). We ask that you park at the Batawa Ski Hill Main Parking lot. DO NOT park on Parry Drive or March Street.

At this time there are no physical maps on site for the North Side trails. However, trail identification signage is in place at all the trail heads and along the access trails. The digital map can be found on trail forks HERE. In the event of an emergency call 911, the GPS co-ordinates of the Parry Drive entrance to the North Side trails is 44.172380,-77.602506

MEMBERSHIPS & DONATIONS:

Due to Covid-19, Quinte MTB will not be holding any in person meetings, group rides, large group trail building/maintenance events, or other social gatherings until further notice. If you think you will participate in these events once measures are lifted we suggest you buy an adult/family membership.

If you don't intend on attending any group rides or Quinte MTB hosted events/meetings, but you still wish to support the trails; we ask that you select the donation option, as the number of club "members" impacts our insurance premiums.

WAIVERS:

If you/your family members are purchasing a Quinte MTB membership you must complete an IMBA waiver for each family member HERE. Parents must complete the waiver for anyone under the age of 18.

If you are not a Quinte MTB member but you would like to come help with trail work you must complete the Batawa Summer Volunteer waiver HERE

Batawa Ski Hill is hosting our waivers for us now. If you have an account for the ski hill you will be prompted to load those account details to save you time when completing your waiver.

OTHER NEWS

Recently Quinte MTB received a $5000 grant through the City of Quinte West's Community and Small Project Fund. These funds will be used to purchase trail building/maintenance tools and a storage shed. This funding will allow us to work more efficiently and allow our volunteers who do not have their own tools to participate in ongoing projects.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Your Quinte MTB Board of Directors
