Ontario Trails Council members may nominate individuals, groups and organizations for this prestigious recognition.
Nominations must be made in writing to the Ontario Trails Council Board of Directors at least one month before the Annual Meeting.
Successful recipients and nominators will be notified at least one week before the Annual Meeting. Recognition will be formally awarded at the Annual Awards Celebration held in conjunction with the Ontario Trails Council Annual Conference and/or Annual Meeting.

Individual/Outstanding Achievement Awards
Criteria:Appreciation Awards will be given annually to individuals for outstanding service or deeds. These individuals will have made special contribution to the Ontario Trails Council that goes beyond the call of duty whether he or she is a volunteer or employee of the Ontario Trails Council, a trail using group, a trail management or trail building organization or someone who has made a major contribution to the development of trails in the Province of Ontario.
Nomination Criteria:
When preparing supporting documentation for this Award, please include specific and detailed information and documentation. Include such information as a history of the individual's involvement with trails and with the Ontario Trails Council.
Trail Builder Awards
Criteria:Trail Builder Awards be given to member organizations in recognition for their efforts in completing and opening a section or sections of the Trillium Trail Network; for special and unique activities on a section or sections of the Trillium Trail Network which included the use of volunteers, user groups and the general public; and/ or for raising positive media attention to a section(s)of the Trillium Trail and trails in general; and/or for creative and special fund raising events for development of a section of the Trillium Trail Network: and/or for unique and special trail related communications initiates.

Trail User Group Awards
Criteria:Trail User Awards be given to member associations in recognition for their successful efforts to encourage members and others, to use and be part of the Trillium Trail Network; and/or for encouraging, supporting and developing ways to make trails shared-use; and/or for special and unique initiatives and events to encourage the general public to support and use trails.

William 'Bill' Bowick Lifetime Achievement Award
Criteria:This award is provided to a person of special talent and expertise in the provision of voluntary efforts to the Ontario Trails Community. The successful person should be a person of vision, community support, trail builder, collaborator in the development of trails in the public interest, as embodied by Past OTC President and Executive Director, Bill Bowick.

President's Award
Criteria:This award is offered by the President of the OTC to a person or organization of special talent and expertise in the provision exemplary diplomatic and strategic relations in the trails community. The successful person or organization should possess strategic vision, cross-community support, and collaboration amongst organizations developing or managing trail and trail related programs with the OTC.
